Andrew Quanbeck, PhD, Selected as Romnes Fellow

Andrew Quanbeck, PhD, has been awarded an H.I. Romnes Fellowship in recognition of his exceptional research contributions. Fellows receive a $60,000 research award that may be spent over five years. University of Wisconsin Vice Chancellor for Research Dorota Brzezinska said the awards “represent some of the most meaningful investments in the people who drive discovery at UW–Madison.”

Quanbeck’s research draws upon concepts from systems engineering to develop innovative approaches to implementing evidence-based practices, with a specific focus on implementation of evidence-based practices and technologies for the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders in medical care settings. The innovative approaches to implementation Quanbeck developed have been evaluated in multiple NIH-funded trials and have led directly to health improvements for patients suffering from addiction. 

The H.I. Romnes Fellowship recognizes faculty who have made notable research contributions within their first six years of promotion to a tenured position. The award is named after a former Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation trustee president, H.I. Romnes.
