Eric Reetz, MD, Presented at 2026 Wisconsin Doctor Day

Eric Reetz, MD, presented at the 2026 Wisconsin Doctor Day event at Monona Terrace on June 25, 2026. Reetz served as the voice for family medicine in a collaborative presentation with University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health colleagues Siobhan D. Wilson, MD, PhD, FACP, and Collin Michels, MD. The presentation, “Aiming for Better: Conversations on Firearm Injury Prevention and Care,” reviewed strategies to identify people at risk of firearm injury, practical tools to begin conversations on firearms, and consensus strategies on firearm injury prevention.

Reetz is a resident in the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He’s had a unique opportunity to work alongside James Bigham, MD, MPH, and his firearm injury prevention efforts by talking to fellow learners, teaching and offering cable locks to patients at their clinics, and accompanying medical professionals to a local gun shop to learn more about firearms from an expert in the community. Reetz plans to continue his work in firearm injury prevention throughout his residency.

Wisconsin Doctor Day is an annual multi-specialty event bringing together physicians and medical students from nearly 20 physician organizations.
