DFMCH Ranked 14th Nationally in 2025 BRIMR Rankings

The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) ranks 14th in the nation for the 2025 Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR) rankings of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for family medicine departments. DFMCH’s NIH Awards totaled $3,502,152 for the federal fiscal year ending September 30, 2025. The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health comes in 24th among medical schools with awards totaling over $297 million.
Five DFMCH faculty appeared in the family medicine principal investigator rankings:
- Sarina Schrager, MD, MS
- Andrew Quanbeck, PhD
- Wendy Slutske, PhD
- Sean Duffy, MD
- Randy Brown, MD, PhD, DFASAM
Since 2006, BRIMR has published rankings based on funding received from the National Institutes of Health. Standings reflect funds awarded during the federal fiscal year as released on the NIH Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tool (RePORT).
