James Bigham, MD, MPH, FAAFP, Selected for AMA Task Force

James Bigham, MD, MPH, FAAFP, has been selected as the American Academy of Family Physicians alternate representative on the American Medical Association Firearm Injury Prevention Task Force. The task force launched in 2023 and includes representation from 14 national medical specialties.
Bigham is the course director for Family Medicine 913 Firearm Injury Prevention and is a phase two department block leader for chronic preventive care providing special instruction on firearm injury prevention, vaccine hesitancy, and community engagement. He is the co-founder of Lock, Stock, and Barrel, a hands-on firearm injury prevention program connecting health professional students, clinicians, and the firearm community.
