Bio
Makaya King, MD, joined DFMCH in 2026 as a resident. She is passionate about women’s health, obstetrics, mental health, and pediatrics. She wants to provide full-spectrum care in a rural community and build long-term relationships across generations of patients.
As a volunteer at the Wausau Free Clinic, King provided medical care to uninsured and underinsured patients, delivering essential health services to underserved populations. She is committed to providing care that is accessible, respectful, and patient-centered.
As president of Students for Reproductive Rights and Justice and founder of the Medical Students for Choice campus chapter, King educated others about sexual health and wellness and advocated for comprehensive reproductive health education.
King enjoys cooking, reading, watching movies, and traveling.
