Wisconsin Retains 77% of DFMCH’s Newest Graduates

The Class of 2026. Seventy-seven percent of this year’s graduates chose to remain in Wisconsin for practice or fellowship training, helping strengthen the state’s physician workforce.

As summer turns to fall, a new academic year is underway. While the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s (DFMCH) newest residents begin their fourth month of training, members of the Class of 2026 are settling into new practices and fellowship opportunities across Wisconsin and throughout the United States. Notably, 77 percent of this year’s graduating class chose to remain in Wisconsin to practice medicine or pursue fellowship training, continuing DFMCH’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the state’s physician workforce.

Baraboo Residency Program

  • Dr. Emily Horn has joined the New Ulm Medical Center Clinic in New Ulm, Minnesota.
  • Dr. Sadie Jackson is practicing family medicine with Group Health Cooperative in Madison, Wisconsin.

Madison Residency Program

  • Drs. Julia Beccue, Sophie Chatas, Rita Henien Bybee, and Briana Krewson have begun academic fellowships with DFMCH.
  • Dr. Sheza Dalloul is practicing in the Chicago area.
  • Dr. Mario Giacobassi is practicing at the UW Health Odana Road Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin.
  • Dr. Kelly Kramer has joined Group Health Cooperative in Madison, Wisconsin.
  • Dr. Samantha Lease is practicing at Hope Medical Clinic in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin.
  • Dr. Noah Maerz has joined Sauk Prairie Healthcare in Lodi, Wisconsin.
  • Dr. Spencer Marting is pursuing an addiction medicine fellowship with DFMCH.
  • Dr. David Miller is continuing his education through an integrative health fellowship with DFMCH.
  • Dr. Samantha Prince has begun an LGBTQ+ fellowship with DFMCH.
  • Dr. Justine Resnik has joined Renown Medical Group in Reno, Nevada.
  • Dr. Zoe Roth has started a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
  • Dr. Julie Vaughan is practicing at Sauk Prairie Healthcare in Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin.
