KJ Hansmann, MD, MPH, PhD, Accepted to MTLE Fellowship

KJ Hansmann, MD, MPH, PhD, has been accepted into the University of Wisconsin Madison Teaching and Learning Excellence (MTLE) faculty development fellowship program for the fall 2026 cohort. The program creates a faculty learning community where members explore evidence-based pedagogy and apply it to their own teaching and mentoring.

Hansmann joined the faculty in 2024 as a family medicine doctor and health services researcher. Her research focuses on leveraging our understanding of social determinants of health and the craft of generalism to design and implement primary care interventions that promote health equity across the life course. Her current work focuses on supporting people with dementia and their family caregivers to navigate complex life transitions like stopping driving.

Hansmann is motivated to help family medicine learners build skills in system-level change through their work in direct patient care, developing connections with their community, and investigating meaningful practice improvement through quality improvement and research. She aims to inspire the next generation of generalists to deliver relational care that supports what matters most to patients, their families, and their communities.
