Bio
Nicole Brys, MPH, joined DFMCH in 2026 as a researcher with the Wisconsin Research Education Network (WREN). Her professional interests include engaging stakeholders in research and finding ways to reduce health disparities.
Brys completed her MPH at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2010. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she volunteered for AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps and supported adults with developmental disabilities to live independently. Before moving back to Madison, she worked for the Minnesota Department of Health’s Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program.
Brys has worked at UW–Madison since 2015 supporting a variety of clinical and health services research. She also worked at the Waisman Center coordinating projects focused on improving systems of care for people with disabilities in Wisconsin. Most recently, Brys worked at the School Mental Health Collaborative in the Department of Education.
Outside of work, Brys enjoys gardening, biking, practicing yoga, and cooking.
