Bio

Aaron Griffin, MD, joined DFMCH in 2026 as a fellow. He was fortunate to have been able to serve as core faculty for one year at the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center Family Medicine Residency before ending his military service in 2025.

Griffin is passionate about improving primary care education in LGBTQ+ health and plans to return to academic medicine after completing his fellowship. He was recognized for teaching achievements in residency with the STFM Resident Teacher of the Year award and the Family Medicine Faculty Teaching Award during his year as core faculty at ATAMMC. He is thrilled to join DFMCH as an LGBTQ+ fellow and looks forward to expanding his knowledge and experience in this area.

Clinical Interests

Griffin is passionate about expanding access to high-quality patient-centered care for underserved populations and fostering health care environments where all patients feel respected, affirmed, and empowered. His clinical interests include gender-affirming care, HIV prevention and treatment, wilderness medicine, and rural medicine.

Teaching Interests

Griffin’s teaching interests include curriculum development, LGBTQ+ health care, wilderness medicine, procedural care, and inpatient medicine.

Scholarly Interests

Griffin’s scholarly interests focus on transgender health and advancing health equity through clinical research, education, and advocacy.
