Bio

Elena García Fariña, MSPH (she/her/hers) joined DFMCH in 2025. García Fariña is a bilingual public health researcher focused on reproductive health equity and clinical implementation in underserved populations, particularly Hispanic communities. She holds an MSPH from Johns Hopkins with training in health systems, health economics, and mixed methods research. Her work has been published in JAMA Network Open and presented at national and international conferences, including the Population Association of America and the Society for General Internal Medicine. García Fariña received the Master’s Essay with Distinction Award from Johns Hopkins and was a 2024 fellow in the Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies Program. She is committed to advancing evidence-based, community-informed solutions that improve access and quality of care in reproductive health systems.

Research Interests

García Fariña is a public health researcher focused on health equity and clinical implementation in underserved populations. She is experienced in evaluating and strengthening health systems through equitable interventions that center Hispanic communities. García Fariña is skilled in clinical trials, qualitative and quantitative research, biostatistics, health economics, and policy analysis. She is committed to advancing innovative, evidence-based solutions that address reproductive health disparities and improve care delivery.
