Bio
Robert Smith, MD (he/him/his) joined DFMCH as faculty in 2025. Smith spent twenty-five years in leadership at a rural hospital helping to smooth the transition to its designation as a Critical Access Hospital and assuring high standards of staff support and quality control. He mentored many younger physicians and taught MDs, students, and PA/NPs.
Clinical Interests
Smith is primarily interested in helping patients live their best lives by integrating clinical medicine, lifestyle choices, and a healthy mind.
