Susan Wenker, PT
Congratulations to Susan Wenker, PT, PhD (Assistant Professor, CHS) on being named the next Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Director for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Wenker will maintain the high quality of education in the DPT program through her experience that includes such highlights as the DPT Director of Clinical Education/Associate Faculty and as a Faculty Associate in the SMPH Office of Academic Affairs.
Dr. Wenker’s recent awards include the American Physical Therapy Association Academy of Geriatrics Distinguished Educator and Joan Mills Service awards, and the 2021 Dean’s Teaching Award. She is currently a nominee for the Fellow of the National Academy of Practice.
Dr. Wenker will assume her role on May 8, 2022, succeeding Dr. Lisa Steinkamp who is retiring after 25 years as director of the program. Thank you both for exemplifying excellence in physical therapy!
