Congratulations to Ronni Hayon, MD (Associate Professor, CHS) on being selected as a recipient of the 2023 SMPH Dean’s Teaching Award, honoring outstanding contributions in student education in medical programs. Hayon was recognized for her work as co-medical director of the Comprehensive Gender Services Program, faculty champion for the AMA Foundation – University of Wisconsin LGBTQ+ fellowship, and for serving as a mentor to women, trans, and non-binary faculty at UW-Madison. Hayon was honored during Med Ed Day on June 1, 2023.

Established in 1992, the SMPH Dean’s Teaching Awards are selected by a committee of UW School of Medicine and Public Health faculty and are the medical school’s only peer-selected teaching award. Awardees are selected for excellence in education, extraordinary and sustained dedication and effort on behalf of student education, demonstrated high level of teaching effectiveness, and innovation in education.
