Randall Brown MD, PhD, DFASAM – PROTEA Director and Professor within the UW DFMCH, Director of the UW Center for Addictive Disorders, and the Program Director for the UW Addiction Medicine Fellowship Programs. Leads and collaborates on clinical trials, health services research, outreach, and education efforts for the PROTEA Program. |
Faculty
David Leinweber, MD, MS – Assistant Professor at UW DFMCH. Works on the inpatient consult service, alcohol-related liver disease and alcohol use disorder clinic, serve as an educator for PROTEA outreach programming, and as a study physician on PROTEA psychedelic clinical trials. |
Kellene Eagen, MD – Assistant Professor at UW DFMCH. Core faculty member for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program, and she leads and collaborates on clinical trials, outreach, and education efforts for the PROTEA program. |
Christopher Nicholas, PhD – Associate Professor at UW DFMCH. Primarily focuses research program investigator on clinical trials of interventions to improve outcomes for people with substance use disorders and related conditions for the PROTEA Program. |
Elizabeth Salisbury-Afshar MD, MPH, FAAFP, FACPM, DFASAM – Associate Professor at UW DFMCH. Core faculty member for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program, and she leads and collaborates on health services research, outreach, and education efforts for the PROTEA Program. |
Staff
Megan Ringo – Program Manager at UW DFMCH. Manages Research Coordinators and contributes to project design, to budget formulation and logistics, and to project regulatory approvals. |
Kathleen Maher – Outreach Specialist at UW DFMCH. Leads the program’s MAT training efforts such as the Buprenorphine Bootcamp and ASAM Waiver trainings. Additionally, she leads the program’s community engagement efforts. |
Julia Malacki – Research Coordinator at UW DFMCH. Provides support for several clinical trials and health services research efforts for the program. |
Nada Rashid – Outreach Coordinator at UW DFMCH. Leads the program’s Project ECHO series and provides administrative program support. |
Chantelle Thomas, PhD – Researcher. Clinical Psychologist with a specialization in addiction, trauma, and health psychology. She is a lead facilitator and supervisor for clinical trials involving MDMA-Assisted Therapy, Psilocybin, and 5-MeO-DMT for the PROTEA psychedelic research program. |
Hannah Wallenkamp – Research Specialist at UW DFMCH. Works with our clinical trials and assists with health implementation projects. |
Heather Williams, MA – Addiction Medicine Fellowship Education Coordinator at UW DFMCH. Oversees the fellowship program, and provides coordinator support to the fellowship’s faculty and fellows. |
