The Paster Family Foundation Salutogenic Science Award recognizes innovative academic work focused on growing the understanding of salutogenic science in balance with pathogenic science. Salutogenesis (salute: health, genesis: the origins of) explores ways to help people stay well and reach their ultimate potential through health, resilience, and living well.
Eligibility
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health faculty, staff, and students are eligible to receive this award. Community partners whose work is focused on growing our understanding of salutogenic science in balance with pathogenic science are also eligible to receive the award.
Selection Criteria
A person, company, or organization that has made an impact on improving the health of a population or our ability to improve health through education, innovation, community service, research, or clinical care.
Selection Committee
Awardees will be nominated and selected by a committee composed of the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health department chair, vice chair of community health, and chief administrative officer.
Required Supporting Materials
Nominees will be contacted to provide the following supporting materials:
- A one- to two-page summary outlining the innovating work being done and its relationship to and/or impact on salutogenic science
- A CV or resume (for individuals) or a mission statement (for companies and organizations)
2024 Award Details
The winner will receive a $5,000 award and be recognized at DFMCH’s annual Farley-Frey dinner.
