Congratulations to Laura Prieto, PhD (Postdoctoral Trainee) and Elizabeth Ver Hoeve, PhD (Postdoctoral Trainee) on receiving 20th Anniversary Postdoctoral Grants from the Wisconsin Partnership Program! The grants will support Ver Hoeve and Prieto as they conduct research and continue their professional development.
Prieto’s study, titled “Promoting Physical Activity Programs for Latine/Hispanic People with Parkinson Disease and Their Care Partners,” will investigate the barriers and facilitators to promoting, accessing, and participating in physical activity programming for Latine/Hispanic community. A national sample of Latine/Hispanic people with Parkinson disease, care partners, community partners, and clinical partners will be interviewed to help inform the improvement and development of physical activity programs to better serve this community.
Ver Hoeve’s POISE Wisconsin study – “Primary and Oncology Integration for Survivorship Equity in Wisconsin” – will include the development and dissemination of an implementation science-informed assessment of contextual care coordination barriers experienced by primary care providers and aligned health care professionals treating patients with cancer. Results of this study will inform the development of future multi-level and technology-driven interventions aimed at enhancing coordinated health care delivery for patients across the cancer care continuum.
The Wisconsin Partnership Program’s mission is “to bring about lasting improvements in health and well-being and advance health equity in Wisconsin through investments in community partnerships, education, and research.”
