Congratulations to the Latino Health Council (including members Patricia Tellez-Giron, MD [Associate Professor, CHS] and Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, MA [UW Health Vice President for DEI and SMPH Associate Dean for Diversity and Equity Transformation]) on being recognized by Governor Tony Evers and Department of Health Services Secretary-Designee Karen Timberlake for their participation in the Vaccination Community Outreach Grant program.
The Latino Health Council and other grant awardees supported vaccination, education, and outreach events that resulted in over 131,000 vaccinations throughout Wisconsin. The Latino Health Council’s work has contributed to Dane County having the highest Latinx COVID vaccination rate in the state.
