Sean Duffy, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor and an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He cares for patients of all ages, from newborns to senior citizens, with a wide variety of health conditions.
Dr. Duffy diagnoses and treats acute (sudden) illnesses and provides well-check exams and preventive care. His clinical interest is helping patients manage chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, to prevent complications.
Because Dr. Duffy cares for patients through all stages of life, he enjoys getting to know all members of the families he serves and seeing them grow over the years. His care philosophy is to meet patients where they are and help them improve their health over time.
In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Duffy conducts research on chronic disease management in low-resource settings. He is currently working to develop a mobile health app to help people in rural Guatemala manage hypertension.
In his free time, Dr. Duffy enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.
“I enjoy working with patients over time to help them lead healthy, happy, productive lives.”
