To take care of yourself, you need to know who “you” are. What do you really want from life? What is it you are seeking? Love? Fulfillment? Happiness? Freedom? Power? What must happen for you to be able to look back from your deathbed and know you have had a full life? What really matters? What do you need in your physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual life to find what you seek? The surveys in this section will give you a framework for assessing your health in several different areas. We would suggest you take the following steps:
1. Start with the “How Healthy Are You?” Survey. (pdf)
2. If you are a healthcare provider, rate yourself on the Headington Institute Burnout Scale. Also see the list of links and resources for Burnout later in this section.
3. For a more in-depth self-evaluation, consider spending time with the self-care materials available through the Univeristy of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing.
