James Bigham, MD, MPH, FAAFP
Congratulations to James Bigham, MD, MPH, FAAFP (Clinical Professor) on presenting at the 2024 Wisconsin Public Health Association Conference on May 22, 2024. Bigham’s presentation, “Shifting Power – Achieving Justice and Health Equity by Advancing Community Expertise,” discussed how collaboration in addressing access to culturally-responsive physical and mental health care can improve wellbeing for people who have experienced incarceration. The presentation also discussed the approach collaborators took to situate power in community, establish trust-based relationships between community and institutional partners, and incorporate both experiential and credentialed expertise to reduce barriers to health equity.
